How to Use PET Pouch Laminating Film?

Place the item to be laminated between two layers of laminating film (with the adhesive sides facing each other) and feed it into a preheated laminator. The machine uses heat and pressure rollers to melt the hot-melt adhesive, bonding it evenly to the item's surface; the seal is finalized once the item cools.

There are two different types of laminating processes for using PET laminating pouch film. The first one adopts a simple laminator for home use or office use; we just need to purchase a laminator and complete the laminating process as per the instructions attached to the laminator(no need for any training). The second one is used in the printing house, which adopts a laminating machine; such a lamination process needs systematic training for the staff, such as temperature, pressure, and speed.

Common Classifications of Thermal Laminating Pouches

· By form: Available in sheets (two/three layers joined at one edge, suitable for small laminators) and rolls (large single-layer rolls, suitable for large laminators and high-volume or large-format lamination).

· By surface finish: Available in glossy (high transparency, suitable for standard documents and photos) and matte(non-reflective, suitable for premium photos and menus, offering a superior feel).

· By thickness: Thickness is typically measured in microns. Greater thickness results in increased rigidity after lamination (e.g., 80 microns for general use; 100 microns for added stiffness, suitable for ID cards; 250 microns for extra thickness, suitable for menus).

FAQ on PET Laminating Pouch Film

Q: What is the MOQ for thermal laminating pouches?

A: The minimum order quantity is 500 packs of A4 size thermal laminating pouches with a thickness of 125 microns, or an equivalent quantity of other thicknesses and sizes.

Q: What kind of samples can you provide for testing?

A: An inventory sample is A4 size, with thickness as per your project; a custom sample depends on inventory situation(may be charged);

Q: What thickness of laminating pouches is best?

A: There is no best; only the most suitable, as demands vary. The higher the mil, the thicker and more rigid the laminating will turn out. Pouch films generally come in 1.5 mil(38micron), 3 mil(75micron), 4 mil(100micron), 5 mil(125micron), 7 mil(175micron), and 10 mil(250micron). Thicker laminating pouch films, such as 7 mil and 10 mil, will often be very stiff and sturdy. 5 mil and under pouch films will be more flexible and thin.
