Blue base and white base are the two types of appearance for the medical film, which are both mainly used for medical image output, while the application field are different.

White base medical film is used for B-ultrasound, color ultrasound, gastroscope, enterscope, and so on.
Blue base medical film is used for X-ray, CT(computer tomography), DR(digital radiography), CR(computed radiography), MRI(magnetic resonance imaging), etc.

Compared with CT and other tests, ultrasound examination has the following advantages: no radiation (pregnant women can be assured), no trauma, timely report results, low cost (the cost of ultrasound examination is generally 1/3 of CT examination, nuclear magnetic resonance 1/5).
